Fantasy SCORE: Yay or nay?

The last Fantasy SCORE.

The last "Fantasy SCORE."

Beshine. A human Fantasy SCORE.

Beshine. A human "Fantasy SCORE."

“Fantasy SCORE” has a history in SCORE magazine that goes back to the August 1992 edition (Volume 1, Issue 2 with Letha Weapons as the covergirl). British artist Duncan Gutteridge’s ongoing monthly assignment was to take a celebrity and paint her with impossibly huge tits along the lines of Chelsea Charms and Beshine…years before Chelsea and Beshine became Chelsea and Beshine. Duncan’s first run ended in the Holiday ’99 issue.

Beginning with the December ’04 SCORE, “Fantasy SCORE” was revived as a semi-regular feature, often alternating with the “Rocket Girls” series painted by the great Otis Sweat until Duncan’s final “Fantasy SCORE” illustration in the February ’09 issue. Many of the paintings from the first series  and all of them from the second series are preserved in SCORELAND‘s Art Gallery section along with “Dream SCORE,” “Bomber Girls,” “Dick Boy” and other works of big-bust art.

Although “Fantasy SCORE” ended, we still get mail from people who have never forgotten it. With new female celebs who can barely fill a C-cup popping up all the time, there’s no lack of new potential subjects. We continue to get requests to revive it, usually with the person making the request’s favorite celebrities. When we publish those letters, inevitably someone else writes against bringing it back. A while ago, Greg wrote, “The reason I’m writing is because I am disappointed that you no longer have ‘Fantasy SCORE.’ I always was so excited to see who you would have next. Please bring it back. There are lots of us fans out here.” In this weekend’s “Scorecard,” R.L. writes, “I must agree that ‘Fantasy SCORE‘ is due a return and would continue to be a very popular feature.” He lists several celebs he’d like to see given a “Fantasy SCORE” boob job.

On the other side of the fence are the letters such as “I don’t like art or cartoons. Just give us photos. ‘Fantasy SCORE’ is a waste of space.” I’ve seen a lot of those letters, too.

I personally love busty art and have enjoyed Otis’ and Duncan’s work since I first saw them. One painting a month, in print and on the Net, certainly doesn’t negatively impact the amount of photos we run. I also believe those two guys inspired many younger fans to try their hand at creating their own art. Just to clarify things, there have been no discussions here about reviving “Fantasy SCORE” (or “Dream SCORE“).

What do you think? Yay or nay?

Tits first

Karla James: the face, the bod, the boobs.

Karla James: the face, the bod, the boobs.

In a Scorecard letter called “Tits First,” a ticked-off C.A. writes, “I am so fucked off by letters that moan about models not showing pink. As long as the girls are offering up those big tits for me, I’m a happy man, and that should be the way for all true SCORE Men. Ninety-five percent of the models do spread their pussies and asses, anyway, so be happy and shut up.”

C.A. may be a little cranky from reading the comments and letters from members who adamantly insist that if models don’t get explicit, they should be passed over. To me, that’s a ridiculous philosophy.

Natasha: right from the snap.

Natasha: right from the snap.

If a girl is attractive and has big boobs, it doesn’t matter to me if she only wants to pose in a mild way, like Karla or many others we’ve photographed since 1992. I also know that girls like Renee Ross and Natasha Dulce, who do everything, will come along, too.

A lot has to do with the speed of life these days. Everything is fast, faster, fastest. People have short attention spans and even shorter patience. People want it all and they want it all right now. This instant. Technology has caused this. The Smart Phones, the Net, iPads, Twitter, and whatever is going to come next. Me, I move at the speed of boobs, and that’s good enough, for me, at least.

Are big boobs just a substitute for big asses?

Yazmina's boobs are nice, but her ass is where it's at!

Yazmina's boobs are nice, but her ass is where it's at!

Today I came across an interesting claim while chatting up SCORE editor Dave and XLGirls editor, Allie Q., and that was that men might like big tits because they could be a substitute for big asses. The idea being that if you look at a big set of tits, the cleavage kind of looks like an ass crack. And if you buy that, then you could naturally assume that guys who like to tittie-fuck would probably like to stick their dicks in between a huge set of ass cheeks and plow away, right?

The treasure in this shot is Pleasure's ass.

The treasure in this shot is Pleasure's ass.

Georgia Peach's vanilla ass is oh, so nice.

Georgia Peach's vanilla ass is oh, so nice.

According to Allie Q., men are drawn to asses because back in the day (which means, like, when we were cavemen and clubbing didn’t mean you took a lady to a hot night spot), we were drawn into the bone zone to find the most-fertile woman to knock up. So, a woman with a big rump was good for humping and for pushing out future women-clubbers…you know, ideal child bearing hips and all that. Allie Q., (Who is by no means an expert in cavemen fucking…) also claimed that back then, we were primal and males were more prone to mounting women from behind. You know…like on the Discovery Channel. lol

After hearing all of Allie’s ideas about asses and Dave’s one or two, “No, it’s true. Look it up. She is right,” I took to the fabulous world of the Interwebs to research this claim and prove if this sex myth was true or not. A few clicks and some light reading later and lo and behold, I found out that there is some science behind the idea that men are attracted to women’s asses because of some primal urge to mate and procreate.

Now, before the ass men go off and throw some sort of booty parade for themselves, that doesn’t mean that ass reigns supreme or that a big set of cans is just a substitute for, one, big can.

Because the SAME THING that can be said about the inspirational nature of a huge ass can be said about a huge set of tatas.

That’s right, basically, men are attracted to curves. A big, round ass might be an indication of the ability to pop out some offspring, but big tits are indicators of being able to feed said offspring. So, technically, liking ass or titties is just a matter of opinion. In other words, it just boils down to whatever floats your boat.

In my case, I like ass AND titties, which makes me just like most of you, I assume. Sorry Allie and Dave. Myth debunked!

They got sole

Renee Ross: she's got sole.

Renee Ross: she's got sole.

The diversity of opinions in the world of SCORE and Voluptuous never ceases to impress me. Some of the feedback we get is incredibly detailed. Even though we can’t possibly fulfill every wish, I still appreciate the interest and the motivation of the guys and gals who take the time to connect, especially these days when so much competes for our attention on a daily basis. I mean, I have a satellite TV subscription to a zillion channels and a subscription  to a newspaper and several mags and I never mail these people any comments, opinions or feedback even though I’ve thought about it.

One of the bigger topics over the years that’s still going strong here is the bare feet vs heels issue. One of our regulars who calls himself “The Feetosopher” lives in Italy and is a prolific DVD buyer. He’s into bare feet and big tits. This is one of his more recent letters from the “Scorecard” reader forum in SCORELAND. He knows what he likes and even takes a statistical approach to the subject.

Melissa Mandlikova: she has nice buns, not bunions.

Melissa Mandlikova: she has nice buns, not bunions.

“Out of 106 full layouts you featured in 13 issues of Voluptuous in 2009, just 6 (I mean SIX!) included at least one (but often just one) picture in which the model’s bare feet were fully visible. This is less than 6% of the total number of layouts versus 20-30% in the 1997-2003 period even in the darkest period (2004-2008) you had never dipped below 9% of the total number of layouts. According to the poll you ran on SCORELAND, 23% of respondents like both boobs and feet in the layouts, and an additional 25% likes a mix (some boob-only layouts, some boob-and-feet layouts), it is quite apparent that you systematically disappoint at least 23% of them.”

The counterpointers have written that foot fans should stick to Leg Sex if they love feet that much. But The Feetosopher is a guy who likes to see the shoeless feet of busty girls, not only the feet of the more slinky, less curvy girls. I can relate because I like feet a lot myself although I’m a boob fan first. (I look at boobs first, feet and legs second, face third, ass fourth.) It’s just a fact that when a photographer is shooting a layout of a big-boobed girl, he’s got to think about her chest and often get close-up, not focus on her feet whether she is wearing shoes or not, and that means that a good portion of her legs and feet are not going to be in the picture. Otherwise, every photo would be a full-body shot.

My sole opinion about shoes is that if the model is going to wear her shoes throughout a layout and never kick them off, the shoes gotta be high, wild-looking and show a lot of toe cleavage. That’s why the girls wear what they wear at clubs. Sally Secretary shoes and low heels don’t cut it at all for me in a men’s mag pictorial or video. If that makes me an arch heel, so be it. I think we’ll still be dragging our feet about this topic ten years from now. Maybe one day, there will be a happy medium. Unless the boot crowd gains greater support. And we still have the ass, bush and pussy crowd to negotiate with.

F.C. gets the final word today: “Even if a man does not have a foot fetish, we like to see a woman’s feet. Feet are as expressive as hands, especially in the hardcore layouts and video. According to some American marketing research I read, six out of every ten men pay attention to women’s feet when we see an attractive girl in the street, and we like kissing and sucking our lover’s toes when we are having sex. You’ll notice some of your competitors go well out of their way to show the models’ feet. Yes, I know I can always buy your fine Leg Sex mags and DVD’s and I do own a few of them. But why do I have to choose between skinny-ass/small-titted babes in Leg Sex stuff or beautiful girls with big gazongas but no feet? Why can’t I have both big tits and feet?”

The eyes have it

Rachel Love: 100% P.O.V.

Back in “Scorecard” #284 on SCORELAND, we published an email about the topic of girls looking at the camera during a XXX scene with a guy. L.D.R.’s basic gripe was, “Your women have the stuff that dream dates are made of. The first photos of your pictorials are tops. The seduction, if you will. Then you blow it. When every shot has the girl looking into the camera while the stud has his way with her, it makes us feel like losers. That stud represents us. When the girl looks at the stud, she is looking at us, and for that moment in time, she becomes our girlfriend, and that is what makes us want to return to The SCORE Group! Take this as you wish.”

L.D.R.’s letter didn’t generate much response, either point or counterpoint. In plays or movies, when someone looks at the unseen viewer, acknowledging his presence, it’s called breaking “the fourth wall.” The imaginary boundary between play and audience is broken. Woody Allen has done this many times in his movies, like in Annie Hall. Michael Caine did it throughout his movie Alfie. It’s more common on stage than in films, where it’s never been that popular.

We’ve been running a poll about this subject on SCORELAND, and the majority of respondents didn’t agree with L.D.R. We asked, “Do you like it when a model looks at the camera instead of the guy in a hardcore photo shoot?” A big 63% said yes, only 16% answered no and 21% didn’t have a preference either way.

A girl looking at the camera in a hardcore scene can work in different ways. Naturally, in a point-of-view shoot when the camera takes the place of the guy, the model looking into the camera is the most important part of the fantasy logic. A second situation–both guy and girl are shot in third person but she turns her head or her eyes to look directly at the camera, with different types of facial expressions, such as smiling or sexually turned on, extra-excited by someone else looking at her fucking and sucking her partner–is what L.D.R. objected to. He feels that he’s on the outside looking in, “a look but don’t touch” effect. There’s also a third: when the viewer is a peeping Tom spying on a couple and the girl might shoot knowing glances in the direction of the peeper while the guy is unaware.

Most of this applies to still photos. In most third-person hardcore videos, the girls rarely turn to look at and acknowledge the camera.

Personally, I’m a P.O.V. fan. They really pull you into the action. But this doesn’t work all the time. A lot of positions must be seen third-person unless mirrors are used. That’s why mirrored rooms are so big at hot-sheet hotels.

The same question is currently up on the Blog poll. What are your thoughts?

Contests…love ’em, hate ’em, can’t live without ’em?

The SCORE Newcomer of the Year contest wasn't even a contest when Rocki Roads became the first winner in 1996.

The SCORE Newcomer of the Year contest wasn't even a contest when Rocki Roads became the first winner in 1996.

One of the unintended consequences of my blog this past week (“Shocking news from the SCORELAND Blog poll…or am I the only one who’s shocked?”) was a heated side conversation about comparing one girl to another. It started when Frankie said that so and so and so and so were much hotter than so and so, to which Jenna Valentine replied, “You guys shouldn’t say other girls are hotter than others. It’s not like they can’t read this and don’t have feelings.” And then Arianna Sinn chimed in with, “They can’t understand that this is not a competition between us.” And it really isn’t.

But then there’s the dicey issue of poll questions like the one we asked last week about your picks so far for 2010 Newcomer of the Year, and The Top 100 of the Decade contest that was held at SCORELAND and the annual Newcomer and Model of the Year contests in SCORE and Voluptuous. Which, at heart, are competitions between models.

The SCORE Newcomer of the Year contest started in 1997 and came about entirely by accident. The editor at the time ran a pictorial showing the top newcomers of 1996, and before he knew it, he was getting hundreds of letters with votes he had never asked for. The winner of that non-contest was Rocki Roads (who, incredibly, beat out Linsey Dawn McKenzie). Since then, the official Newcomer of the Year contest has been a mainstay of SCORE (we added Model of the Year in 2001).

Some models, like Crystal Gunns, really love the awards contests.

Some models, like Crystal Gunns, really love the awards contests.

Judging by the thousands and thousands of votes we get (and the fact that the awards issue is always one of our best-sellers of the year), most of you like the awards contests. Most models do, too. Crystal Gunns actively campaigned for 2007 Model of the Year and was thrilled when she did win.

But there’s a flip side to this, too. Some people ask, “How come everything has to be a competition? Why do we have to compare one girl to another?”

“I hate the contests,” Cherry Brady told me the other day. Cherry had the misfortune of coming along in 2003, the greatest year ever for Voluptuous newcomers. In most other years, she might have won…and maybe she wouldn’t hate the contests so much! 🙂

There are a lot of different aspects to this thorny debate. I love the awards. Elliot James doesn’t like them. I think they’re a way to celebrate our best girls. But, of course, there can be only one winner, so how do the runners-up feel? And how about the girls who aren’t even nominated? How do they feel?

Actually, I want to know how you feel. The SCORE and Voluptuous awards: Should we keep them or do away with them?

Point/counterpoint: bare feet vs sexy shoes

April 5, 2010 by Elliot James

Naked tootsies or hot heels? SCORELAND members on two opposing sides duke out this long-standing subject in point/counterpoint format. I think a lot depends on the location and the personality of the model. Outdoor shoots in natural locations, like a grassy area, tend to favor the barefoot look. Black spike heels look out of place at poolside in the daytime. I don’t think anyone would dispute that the shape of the ass, leg and foot look sexier in high heels.

Shyla Shy from the April ’10 V-Mag seems more like the barefoot type unless someone asks her to put on the hot shoes.

Point
“I hope you get a kickback from the shoe manufacturers, because every friggin’ pictorial has the women wearing shoes! They are not sexy when they are lying down with their legs in the air or in a doggy-style pose. I will grant you they make the models’ legs look good…when they are standing!  I know they sometimes hide ugly feet, but it’s still a cliche!”–M.

“I’m not a foot fetishist, but I love a nice pair of feet. I’m suggesting that models wear shoes for the standing shots but lose them when lying down or in doggy-style shots. Kerry Marie has beautiful feet. Yet every single picture has her wearing some kind of slip-on shoe, even on her back in a bed or on a couch.”–M.G.

“I am not a foot-fetish person, but I do like totally nude and no shoes when it’s time to fuck!”–R.R.

We pretty much have the impression that Lanea Love from the same issue is a heels lover.

Counterpoint
“What most guys want to see is open-toed mules, oily bodies and plenty of bent over at the knees photos against a plain backdrop.”–S.

“Go to any strip club anywhere in the world and tell me if you see even one dancer on stage wearing flip-flops or shoes a girl would wear in an office. Fuck no! They’re all sliding around on six-inch see-through heels. Why? Because dancers know better than anyone what turns guys on.”–K.I.

“I noticed that some of the readers make mention of your models wearing heels and their displeasure with that decision. I can honestly say that I love it when you photograph your models wearing heels and shoes that exotic dancers wear, such as CFMPs (Come Fuck Me Pumps), and the shorter the skirts, the tighter the tops and the skimpier the outfits, the better.”–P.W.

The debate will continue for a long time.
