The bigger melons were slower to sell, and a retail psychologist discovered that female shoppers subconsciously compared the melons to their own boob size, leading them to purchase the smaller fruit. When Tesco first introduced the smaller melons, they sold more than a million in two months. In America, bigger melons are more in demand except by urban female shoppers, who don’t want to carry heavy items from the store to their apartments.
Only the biggest watermelons can come close.
